BECCA B

CO-FOUNDER | INSTRUCTOR

Born and raised in New York, Becca is a comprehensive certified Pilates instructor and holistic health coach. Before transitioning into the wellness space, she built a successful career in investment banking and sales & trading at a leading global financial institution.

Becca developed a passion for mindful movement and a deep connection to Pilates while recovering from a hip injury in 2019. That experience sparked her journey to become a certified Pilates instructor dedicated to helping others move with intention and confidence. Becca is known for her calming presence and creative, thoughtfully-sequenced classes that challenge both the body and mind. Her approach emphasizes strength, balance, and a feel-good flow in an inclusive, welcoming environment.

Outside the studio, Becca is a proud dog-mom of two, married to a marathon runner (she’s a top-tier spectator), and loves unwinding with an extra dirty martini (blue cheese olives required) and a good burger.

KARIS L

CO-FOUNDER | INSTRUCTOR

Karis LeBlanc is a Brooklyn-based Pilates and Group Fitness Instructor with a passion for movement, empowerment, and connection. Karis discovered her love of Pilates and movement practices at 16. She completed her Core Pilates Comprehensive Certification in 2009 and has continued her education ever since, earning a NASM Group Fitness Certification and completing a Master-Level Pilates Teacher Training through Equinox in 2011. In 2020, Karis expanded her wellness practice by becoming a Certified Holistic Health and Life Coach, holding dual certifications from Precision Nutrition and the Health Coach Institute.

Karis' classes are designed to deepen the mind-body connection through dynamic, technical, and invigorating movement. She empowers her clients to explore new ways of challenging themselves, creating focused, encouraging, and playful experiences that blend precision, power, and flow (with a few laughs along the way!).

Outside the studio you can find Karis at home cuddling her beloved pup, Atlas, planning her next trip (sometimes to Burning Man) or out for a night of good music, great company and fabulous glass of wine.

ALISON M

INSTRUCTOR

Alison Midollo is a certified yoga teacher, holistic health coach, and Reiki practitioner who gently guides students back to their inner safety through movement, mindfulness, and deep self-care. Rooted in her own journey of healing from burnout, anxiety, and chronic inflammation, Alison’s approach is grounded in the power of stillness and the belief that transformation begins with slowing down and setting intention. Her classes invite you to pause, reconnect, and nourish your whole self—body, mind, and spirit.

AMANDA K

INSTRUCTOR

Amanda (they/she) is a Pilates instructor, yoga teacher, dance educator, and mover! They have been dancing since they were 3yo and haven't stopped moving since. Amanda's mission with Pilates is to encourage clients to discover and develop advocacy over their bodies through movement with others in the community.

Amanda received their Pilates training through University of Wisconsin alongside earning a Bachelor of Science in Dance. The somatic and mindfulness of the Pilates practice has been a grounding and enhancing part of Amanda's dance training. Amanda is excited to continue growing, connecting, and moving with the community of Brooklyn.

BRITT G

INSTRUCTOR

Britt is a yoga teacher, visual & movement artist, climber, and Art Therapy graduate student. Her classes explore themes rooted in intuition and growth. Thoughtfully holding space, she encourages students to explore physical and emotional awareness with curiosity and non-judgement, creating an expansive personal practice steeped in compassion. To Britt, yoga is medicine for the mind, body, and soul—a practice to cultivate a deep inner Knowing and to move with loving intention. She believes that the act of coming together in community to practice and witness / be witnessed offers individual and collective healing.

Outside of the yoga studio, Britt dedicates time and space to the nurturing of her ecology of multimodal practices. She finds insight, connection and release through writing poetry, curating playlists / sound journeys, improv dance and creative movement, nature bathing, drawing and painting, writing letters to loved ones, creating chainmail adornments, and sewing / knitting garments.

Britt received her 200 RYT from Yess Yoga (Minneapolis, MN).

CAROLYN M

INSTRUCTOR

Hi! I’m Carolyn —for the past decade, I’ve called this vibrant corner of Brooklyn home. As a certified yoga instructor, personal trainer, nutritional therapist, and somatic movement therapist, I bring an integrative approach to every class.

My teaching weaves together strength training, mobility work, and deep stretching, alongside the subtler arts of breathwork and meditation. I create classes that welcome all body types and levels, with the goal of helping you build strength, create space, and cultivate a deeper connection to your body.

I believe in the power of hybrid movement to guide lasting transformation — both physically and energetically. I can’t wait to move and breathe with you on the mat!

CHRISTINA S

Christina "Xtina" Smith is a Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor bringing big energy and strength to Brooklyn House of Movement. She is so excited to join the BHOM team as one of the Mat Sculpt & Define instructors! Christina is passionate about all things strength. She loves empowering people and helping her students tap into their power - both physically and mentally. She loves showing people that they are capable of doing hard things..going a little faster, getting a little stronger. Expect good vibes, fun, and a killer playlist in her class!

CIARA B

INSTRUCTOR

Ciara Byrne, originally from Tampa, Florida, is now a Brooklyn-based Pilates instructor. She found her love for Pilates while studying dance at Florida State University and later became a certified Pilates Instructor through Balanced Body Pilates. As a dancer who has experienced many injuries, Ciara loves that Pilates can adapt to every client's needs. Her passion for movement goes deeper than just Pilates- she is also a runner and tap dancer! Whether you are a runner, dancer, or just interested in Pilates- enter Ciara's class to move and groove! You'll leave feeling strong, refreshed, and energized!

JASMINE M

INSTRUCTOR

Jasmine is a vibrant instructor who blends movement, mindfulness, and fun (and burpees) into every class. With a focus on strength, flexibility, and the mental benefits of movement, she empowers her students to challenge their bodies and find balance. She always does her best to create an uplifting environment where everyone can feel strong, confident, and ready to thrive.

Outside of teaching she is a Brooklyn dweller, fur mom to twin pomskies and a coach's wife.

JESSICA B

INSTRUCTOR

Jessica Billings (she/her) is an ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor & Personal Trainer originally from Acton, Massachusetts. She holds degrees in Dance & Environmental Studies from the University of Wisconsin Madison, where she began her fitness career through the campus Department of Recreation & Wellbeing. Billings empowers participants to develop autonomy and efficacy in their health and fitness through educational and multi level programming. She leads safe, effective workouts that foster a supportive and enjoyable community environment. Outside of BHOM, Billings shares her passion for movement as a Brooklyn-based dancer, choreographer, and dance educator.

INSTRUCTOR

Katie has been teaching Pilates since 2017 and brings an anatomically rooted, challenging approach to every class. Her style is deeply focused and restorative, designed to help clients reconnect with their bodies and move with intention. With a passion for healing movement, she loves introducing people to Pilates and showing them how it can support both mental clarity and physical strength. Whether you're brand new or a seasoned mover, she’s all about creating a welcoming space where you can feel supported, seen, and empowered. Outside the studio, Katie is affectionately known as the “tea lady,” crafting delicious teas and herbal supplements that support hormonal balance and overall wellness.

NICHOLE P

INSTRUCTOR

Nichole teaches yoga, yoga sculpt, and restorative classes.

Certified in Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Mindfulness, and Sound Healing, she additionally holds a degree in Dance from Dean College and is certified in the American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum.

Her class philosophy is rooted in mindful movement, focused breath work, intentional alignment, and compassionate self-love and awareness.

“When I teach, I create a space where everyone feels safe to meet themselves where they are - to truly connect with their minds and bodies. My classes provide an opportunity to push oneself while also leaving room for rest, grace, and acceptance.”

When not teaching, Nichole works as a travel advisor, designing and researching wellness inspired travel experiences that she writes about in her substack, In Pursuit of Wellness.

RIVERS D

INSTRUCTOR

Rivers Duggan is a Mat and Apparatus certified Pilates instructor who loves a good burn and specializes in building strength. She got into Pilates after a recommendation from her physical therapist to help mediate chronic back pain from scoliosis. As she delved more into her training, it became one of her true passions. She hopes to encourage others to find ways to work with their bodies, overcome any challenges, and become the best versions of themselves! When she's not in the studio, Rivers is performing, making films, cooking up a storm, and loving on her wonderful cat and husband.
