• Pilates is a method of low-impact movement designed to strengthen and improve overall physical ability, mobility, and flexibility.  The movements are intentional and promote the connection between mind and body.  It is truly a full-body workout that will leave you feeling confident and empowered inside and out.

  • The reformer machine is a type of Pilates equipment designed to build strength and reduce injury utilizing spring-based tension, a gliding carriage, and pulling straps.  The reformer equipment can help achieve a more intense workout, increase flexibility and stability, and deepen the mind-body connection.  The Brooklyn House of Movement uses industry-leading equipment from Balanced Body.

  • The Tower apparatus is a reformer machine add-on designed to offer trapeze table movements.  The use of the tower increases the exercise and movement options through a fully integrated system designed to work the full body.  This creates an optimal training environment to level-up your practice.  The Brooklyn House of Movement uses industry–leading equipment from Balanced Body.

To ensure your safety, our pre- and post-natal policy is as follows:

    • Prenatal clients up to 20 weeks are welcome to attend group classes at their comfort level.

    • After 20 weeks, clients are limited to pre/post-natal friendly classes and private sessions. We ask that you consult with your medical professional and receive approval to continue practice beyond this point.

Please note that while all of our instructors are certified, some may have more experience working with prenatal and postnatal clients. We recommend informing your instructor before participating in any classes or sessions.

If you have any questions about our policy or your personal health, feel free to reach out to us at hello@brooklynhom.com, and we’ll assist in finding the best fit for you at our studio.

  • To ensure your safety, we kindly ask that you consult with your medical professional before resuming physical activity. If you're new to Pilates, we typically recommend starting with a private session before joining a group class. Private sessions allow us to tailor the workout to your needs and help you gain confidence as you move through recovery.

If you're experienced in Pilates and comfortable modifying movements, we encourage you to join an all-levels class. Please note that while all of our instructors are certified, some may have more experience working with specific injuries. We recommend informing your instructor about any concerns before your session.

If you're unsure which option is best for you, feel free to reach out to us at hello@brooklynhom.com, and we’ll help guide you toward the right fit.
